Art Submission Guidelines

• Download the correct template for your product.
• Create your art. Carefully review the template instructions. If you have any questions, please contact our art department
• Submit your art. For files under 5MB, email as an attachment to art@bestflag.com. For files over 5MB, please use sendspace.com, yousendit.com, or upload to your FTP site.

Application Formats

• Adobe Illustrator® 8.0 to CS5
• Adobe Photoshop® 6.0 to CS5.
• File types: TIFF, EPS, PSD or PDF.
• NOTE: If you are working with Adobe InDesign®, please export to one of these file types

Sizing

• Refer to the Template for sizing.
• The templates are set at 10% scale. Do not re-size the template.

Resolution and Pixel Based Images

• Images or scans should have a minimum resolution of 100ppi (pixels per inch).
• Image resolutions at capture should be appropriate for final output size

Vector Images -vs- Raster Images

• Please use vector based images for logos and other illustrated images in your layout when possible.
• Vector images (created in programs like Adobe Illustrator) can be enlarged almost indefinitely while still retaining sharp lines, clean edges, and consistent color. Adobe Illustrator® EPS file formats are most recommended.
• Raster images (like photographs or images created in Adobe Photoshop®) are pixel-based and lose clarity when the image is enlarged. Though we can print high quality, high resolution raster images, we can not guarantee color matching.

Fonts

• Convert all fonts to outlines/paths.

Color

• If you require a color to match a Pantone® color, please specify the PMS value when submitting your files.
• Pantone® solid coated colors will be closely matched when the vector art is submitted as an EPS file. Colors will be printed the closest CMYK equivalent to their specified Pantone®.

Rich Black

• Prevent inconsistent black by using rich black consistently throughout the layout.
• Create a custom color for rich black as: Cyan 0% / Magenta 0% / Yellow 0% / Black (K) 100%
