Let's get started! Outside of the artwork you design, the shape will be the biggest driver of how your customized flag looks. We offer four distinct flag shapes to choose from, each of which has its own benefits and common uses.

Rectangle

Nothing beats the clean, classic look of a standard flag. A custom rectangular flag is the traditional, timeless shape that most of our customers (whether companies or individuals) are looking for.

Pennant

A pennant is typically a commemorative flag used to show support for a school or athletic team. Pennants are seen in all levels of athletics, and can also bring a fun element to other celebrations or events.

Guidon

Many U.S. military branches and members carry this type of flag to signify their units, corps or title, but the unique shape and style of a guidon flag makes it great for all sorts of occasions.

Each custom flag comes in a variety of sizes, depending on the shape of the custom flag you have selected. Rectangular flags, pennants, guidons and burgees are all available in our Small and Standard sizes, while our rectangular flags are also available in Oversized sizes (see chart below). Select Your Print Option

The print option you choose will determine how your design looks on the back side of your personalized flag (the front will look the same with either selection). You can't go wrong with either option, though each option has times where it might be the preferred choice. Read below to learn more about our single reverse and double sided print options.

Single Reverse

Custom single reverse flags are printed on a single piece of fabric, where the ink fully dyes the material so your design is visible from both the front and the back. The image on the back will be a reverse image (or mirrored image) of the front.

Double Sided

Custom double sided flags are made by printing two pieces of fabric and sewing them together with a blockout liner in between. This construction allows for your image to read correctly on both the front and back, or gives the option of using completely different artwork on each side.

Choose How To Finish Your Flag

Our custom flags have a few different finishing options depending on the size and style desired. No matter which style you choose, flags are sewn with high quality double-needle lock-stitching. See below for more information on canvas headers, pole sleeves and gold fringe.

Canvas Header & Grommets

Canvas header & grommets are the standard finishing for customized flags up to 6’ x 10’. The grommets easily attach to most flag poles, and can also be used to hang your flag on a wall or from the ceiling. The flag is reinforced with a four-row “fly end” stitch on the right side.

Canvas Header w/ Rope & Thimble

For larger customized flags, the rope & thimble is attached to the canvas header to better secure heavier flags. This is standard finishing for flags 8’ x 12’ and larger. The flag is reinforced with a four-row “fly end” stitch on the right side.

Pole Sleeve

Pole sleeves (also called pole hems or pole pockets) are typically used when hanging a flag indoors, on small flag poles or handheld poles (like for spirit flags).

Pole Sleeve & Gold Fringe

For a more ornate version of your personalized flag, choose a pole sleeve with gold fringe. All other finishing details will match the pole sleeve version.

Digital printing allows us to acheive amazing color and print quality while maintaining flexibility to rapidly produce products of almost any job size. Printing & Materials

The right printers and materials are the foundation of making the highest quality custom flags. Here are some elements that set us apart.
Full Color Custom Print
Our custom flags are digitally-printed, full-color custom prints. This gives you maximum flexibility in deciding what to put on your flag, and will be sure to attract attention, whether to your company’s logo, a team mascot or your personal design.
Direct-to-Fabric Printing
Our custom flags are digitally printed directly onto our materials to ensure vibrant colors on both sides of the flag. Why is direct printing important? Many manufacturers use print processes (e.g. transfer printing) that were never intended for personalized flags. The result is the front side of the flag may look great, but the back side looks muted or faded. By focusing only on direct printing, we make sure your image looks great on both sides of a single reverse flag!
200D Nylon
Our standard material for custom flags is a 200D nylon. This material prints beautifully and flies just as well - the reason it is the standard flag material in the US. This is our default material and will be used unless specifically requested otherwise. Nylon flags are made using acid dye printing to digitally print the flags.
110g Knit Polyester Flag
Our 110g knit polyester flag material is a lighter weight alternative to nylon. While we typically use this for feather flags, custom flags can also be produced on this material (which is also the standard flag material outside the US) upon request. Polyester flags are made using a dye sublimation printing process to digitally print the flags (again, always through direct printing as opposed to transfer printing).

Production & Customization

Our goal is to be as fast and flexible as possible, so we can deliver our customers the exact custom flag they need, when they need it.
4 Business Day Production
Our standard production time on custom flags is 4 business days for quantities up to 25. Larger quantities may require additional time, which will vary based on the size of the order. Shipping times are not included in the production times, and vary based on location and shipping method. As always, we will do everything we can to meet any project deadlines.
No Minimum Quantity, Unlimited Maximum!
As the best custom flag maker around, BestFlag can craft as many custom flags as you need. We have no minimum order quantities for custom flags, and there is no limit to how many you can print! Whether you need 1, 1,000, 10,000 or 100,000, BestFlag will get you what you need. What are custom flags?
Custom flags are flags that are not typically used by a country, state or municipal government, but instead are used to represent a company, an organization, a group of people or a cause. Custom flags can be made from a variety of materials, but are almost always made of fabric or cloth (typically nylon or polyester). Every once in a while, certain types of flags may be made from paper or plastic, but this is unusual. They can be displayed in a variety of ways, such as being attached to a pole, hung from a building or mounted on a wall. Custom flags can be used for a variety of purposes, such as promoting a product, supporting a cause, or celebrating an event. Basically, you can use a custom flag for anything!
Are nylon flags or polyester flags better?
For our standard custom flags, we typically recommend going with a nylon flag, which is why it is the default material selection. It is the predominant flag material in the US, and looks great both up close and on a pole. However, our knit polyester flag material is a great alternative too, as long as the dye sublimation printing is a direct print and not a transfer print.
What is the largest custom flag you've created?
The largest custom flag our team has created was about 60' x 90' and was used on an NFL football field. The flag was made for one of our reseller partners, so unfortunately we can't post the picture, but there's no flag too big for the amazing people on our production team!
Are discounts available if I order multiple custom flags?
Yes, we offer quantity discounts on all of our custom flags! Quantity discounts will automatically apply in your cart up to 100 units. If you need more than 100, please reach out to our team for a custom quote.
Do you match competitor's pricing?
We will typically be able to match pricing on custom flags, as long as we are matching an apples-to-apples product. For example, some suppliers use lighter materials or non-direct-to-fabric printing, or are selling imported products.
Can I print a flag of my favorite team?
Unfortunately, we are not able to print anything that you as our customer does not control the intellectual property for. So, unless you are an NFL team owner or executive, we won't be able to print that for you.
Where are your flags manufactured?
The vast majority of our flags are made right here in the USA. We do have some overseas manufacturing partners who we utilize for certain higher volume projects where cost is an important factor to our clients.
Do you charge setup fees for custom flags?
No! We do not charge setup fees for custom flags or any of our products.
Is it easy to design a personalized flag with your online design tool?
You don't need to be a professional graphic designer to use our online design tool! In fact, it was designed specifically to allow non-designers to create beautiful customized flags in just a few minutes. Check it out and see what you can do!
Can I customize my flag beyond what your site will let me do?
Yes, please reach out to us with details, and we would be glad to help. We can create customized flags of unique sizes and finishings (e.g. special pole sleeves, putting canvas header on a different side) to meet your needs.
How long do flags last?
According to US Government Standards, a high-quality outdoor flag will have a life expectancy of 90 days, and BestFlag’s warranty is designed to match this standard. There are a number of factors that will impact lifespan, many of which vary by region, especially weather conditions like sun/UV intensity and wind. We use a high-quality UV-protected nylon and durable double-needle lockstitch sewing to minimize the impact of these (unfortunately) unavoidable environmental factors and to maximize the life of your flag. And while we can’t guarantee it for every use, most customers will find their flags last about double this government standard - around 6 months!
Can I get assistance if I need help creating my artwork?
Absolutely! Our team is happy to help with art setup for your custom flags. We don't charge anything for basic artwork creation or setup. If you need a more advanced design from scratch, there may be some costs involved, but we try to keep them as low as we can.
Where do you ship to?
We can ship just about anywhere in the world. If shipped outside of the United States, please keep in mind that any pricing list on the website will not include customs duties, taxes or fees, which will be the responsibility of the buyer.
Does my custom flag come with a pole?
Our spirit flags and house flags have an option to purchase a pole with them. Any other custom flags will not come with a pole.
Do you have any recommendations on how to design a flag?
We recommend keeping your flag design simple, with a big logo and larger fonts for text. Why? Because in most cases, flags are going to be viewed from a distance, especially if they are hanging on a pole. So, we are of the mindset that you want your flag design to be something that is clear from further away.
I'm still not sure if I should choose a single reverse flag or a double sided flag. What other guidance can you provide?
If you are on the fence, we typically recommend going with a single reverse print (even if this generates a smaller sale for us). They are cheaper and still get the job done really well, and as long as you are keeping your designs simple, you are generally getting the point across from either side. However, we do really like double sided flags for indoor applications when both sides are going to be viewed up close.
